Bangei (Kabun Zetsumei)
Name of Weapon: Bangei
Location: Sword is at his hip and staff is in a cloth sheath on his back if not being used as a walking stick.
Description: This item is unique in that it is actually two separate weapons that can be combined into one.
Sword:
The sword part of the weapon is like a normal sword, with the exception of the small knife concealed in its hilt. This knife is revealed when Kabun slightly presses a tiny button at the bottom of the hilt. It can also be ejected from the hilt with great force by fully depressing the button, shooting at least eighteen feet at thirty-nine mph, more than enough to penetrate most armour. This gives Kabun the element of surprise, although when the knife is ejected it cannot be replaced until after the current combat is finished. The sword-knife has a primary and secondary spring mechanism. The primary spring reveals the knife so that it can be used to stab opponents, and the secondary spring launches the blade.
Staff:
The staff part of the weapon is used mostly as a first line of defence when Kabun is on the road, kept at hand as a walking stick. However, it is more than a mere prop. Hidden in the bottom half of its' length are hundreds of senbon needles that, when pointed at a foe and activated, release at a terrific rate of fire. This is often used as a surprise attack to catch a foe off guard. The top half has a short chain in it which only really comes into play when the sword and staff are connected. Similarly to the hilt-knife, the senbon in the staff are stored in tiny compartments that contain hundreds of springs. To fire them, the top of the staff is twisted which releases the springs, causing the senbon to shoot out. Once started, the senbon cannot be stopped until they have all been fired.
Halberd:
When the sword and staff are put together, they create a halberd type weapon. When the hilt of the sword is slotted into the top of the staff, it attaches to a chain concealed inside the staff. When this is done, Kabun can detach the sword from the hilt and swing it around past a foe's guard before re-attaching to the staff and returning to a normal halberd.
Owner: Kabun Zetsumei
Rank: B
History: Kabun created this weapon after his lessons with the treacherous Master Ko, acclaiming it as the most impressive piece of weaponry he has ever created. With it, he took down Ko and his army of bandits single handedly.

How does the knife and the senbon shoot out?
They need some sort of propulsion method to be able to shoot out that fast.

The sword-knife has a primary and secondary spring mechanism. The primary spring reveals the knife so that it can be used to stab opponents, and the secondary spring launches the blade (similar to a ballistic knife).
Similarly, the senbon in the staff are stored in tiny compartments that contain hundreds of springs. To fire them, the top of the staff is twisted which releases the springs, causing the senbon to shoot out. Once started, the senbon cannot be stopped until they have all been fired.
I'm not a whiz with this kind of stuff, so I hope that this is satisfactory. ^^
If this is okay, do you want me to edit this into the description?

Seems fine, please add these into your description.
Finally, what triggers the chain to attach the sword when inserted into the staff?

Re: Bangei (Kabun Zetsumei)
It's like one of these:
The top of the first chain folds inwards onto a ring on the hilt where the circle is (the ring is on hinges so that it can move out the way for the knife). The first chain fitted into the top of the staff and is released when pushed down by the sword hilt.

Re: Bangei (Kabun Zetsumei)
Okay, that's fine.
Could we cut down the speed to at least 25 - 30 mph?
How fast do the senbon shoot out? 'Terrific' doesn't explain the rate of speed.
Also, I think this should be B ranked.

Re: Bangei (Kabun Zetsumei)
Thirty mph is fine with me. ^^
They are fired approximately twenty every five seconds and they go approximately 17 mph at a maximum range of ten feet.
I will change the rank. ^^
